| Flowering houseplants require lots of sunshine (or a source of artificial light). From your question I'm guessing you've never started seeds before, so I'll suggest Impatiens, a fail-safe, almost fool-proof plant that's easily started from seed. Other choices include fuchsia, hibiscus, geranium or Euphorbia milii (Crown of Thorns). Each seed has its own requirements for sprouting, but in general, use commercial seed starting mix, moisten it so it's damp but not dripping wet, and plant the seed as directed on the packet label. Be sure to use a tray or pot with good drainage. Once the seeds sprout, move them to a bright location or provide artificial light for 12-14 hours each day.
