Is it safe to root prune a black bamboo that is in a container and needs to be repotted? |
You can safely remove some of the roots from your bamboo before repotting. If your plant is in a 2-5 gallon container, take a sharp knife and cut by slicing right down from top to bottom, removing a full inch of the outer root mass all the way around. Then repot. The bamboo will regenerate roots to fill the container in no time at all. |
