Question: Can you suggest any good perennial flowering plants for the desert southwest climate of Phoenix? Thanks. Tony Glendale, AZ

Answer: There are a number of nice flowering perennials for the Desert Southwest. You might want to check out the Desert Botanic Garden or other public gardens soon as these plants bloom to find the ones you really like. Some ideas are Russian sage, 'Moonshine' yarrow, Penstemon, Caryopteris, Blue Flax and Scabiosa.
