Is the Homestead Purple verbena an annual or perennial and what do they require as far as sun, shade?

Verbenas are perennial but sometimes grown as annuals in colder climates. "Homestead Purple" is marginally hardy into zone 6 but it requires excellent drainage. If it is sold as an annual in your area, then chances are that experience has shown it not to be hardy where you are. They take full sun and once established require little water. Verbena roots don't like to sit in water. I hope this info helps!
