Have reed orchids with seed pods. How do you propogate the seeds and grow orchids from the seeds? |
Reed-stem epidendrums grow readily in almost any setting, whether in a pot, mounted on a cork slab, or in raised flowerbeds outdoors, as climate permits. To start new plants from seed, collect the seedpods, open them up, and remove the seeds. Sow the seeds on the top of moistened seed starting mix and cover the trays or pots with plastic wrap to help hold in moisture. Orchid seeds need light, warmth, and lots of patience. Viable seed will sprout in 90-365 days when kept at 65F-75F. |
