What time of year do you plant mums? I have recently purchased some but I am unsure when I can remove them from their pots to plant in the ground. |
Chrysanthemums are in their glory from late summer through early winter. You can plant them in the ground now. Mums are perennial, but the tops will die down in the winter. New shoots will develop from the crown of the plant next spring, and you can dig and divide them to increase your stock of plants. (Make sure each division has a shoot and some roots.) |
