The Q&A Archives: Planting Pontsettia Outside For The Holidays

Question: Am I able to plant pointsettias, already in full red bloom,in containers to remain outside throughout the holiday season?
I live in Northern Westchester County, New York.

Answer: Unfortunately, poinsettias hail from the tropics and simply will not tolerate cold weather so they have to be kept indoors. You might try bright red bows instead.
