We have a Butterfly Pea Vine (at least that's what I think it's called) growing on our patio. Will this vine survive a Houston winter? If so, should I trim it back? The vine is on a west-ward facing patio - it receives some filtered afternoon sun and is partially protected from the north by a brick column.

Butterfly pea vine can be either Centrosema or Clitoria. (That's the problem with common names - they refer to different plants, depending upon gardening region!) Both are perennial and hardy outdoors in your area. Don't trim them back unless frost nips the vines. If they need a little pruning, wait until springtime.
