When would be the best time to plant the bulbs for Lavender Mountain Lillies? Do they need lots of sunshine? Are they perennial? Thanks so much for your help.

Unfortunately I am not certain which plant you are asking about. The only plant I know of as a "Mountain Lily" is a wildflower, Leucocrinum montanum (There is more information about it at http://www.npwrc.usgs.gov/reso...) which is native to gravelly and sandy open areas. They are very cold hardy. If you have these bulbs or roots I would plant them immediately in a location with full sun and excellent drainage, then mulch them for this first winter while they are becoming established. Good luck with your lilies!
