The Q&A Archives: Left-over Fall Bulbs

Question: I found some fall bulbs that I obviously forgot to plant. Will they keep until next fall? Is there anything special that I should do to try to preserve them? Your help will be greatly appreciated. Romona Hobar

Answer: Plant those bulbs now, if they are still hard to the touch, if you want them to survive. If the bulbs are soft to the touch when squeezed, they're rotten and should be thrown out. They won't hold any longer indoors, and you may get flower next year if they grow well this spring.
