The Q&A Archives: Hottest Pepper Varieties

Question: I am attempting to start a hot pepper garden in my back yard. I have heard conflicting information on what the hottest peppers are. Can you please tell me what the hottest are and where I might be able to order them. Thanks in advance. Rob Tamblyn Toronto, ON

Answer: The hottest peppers, hands-down, are the habaneros (a.k.a. Scotch bonnets). They love hot growing conditions and long seasons to grow and mature. Another hot type are the Tepin chilis. Be careful when handling these peppers. They literally can burn you! These and many other other hot peppers are available through, The Pepper Gal P.O. Box 23006 Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33307-3006 954-537-5540
