I recently found some bulbs that I purchased over a year ago. Is there a time limit on planting? Is there a way to tell if they are still good?

Since bulbs are actually alive, storage conditions have a lot to do with their longevity. If they are not mushy or terribly moldy, they might still be okay. Since I tend to be an optimist, I'd plant them and see, but I wouldn't expect much.
