When To Prune Lemon Tree - Knowledgebase Question

I would like to know when is the best time to prune a Meyers drawf lemon tree in the Las Vegas area. I had flowers this last spring but no fruit. This is our second year with this tree.

Citrus is frost tender. In addition, Pruning stimulates new growth, which is frost tender, so you don't want to prune until the last chance of frost. Prune in early spring, just as the plant begins to leaf out. For a young tree, you shouldn't need to do much pruning--only dead wood, crossing branches, etc. Citrus frequently takes several years to bear fruit.
