I have a red vein fittonia. It had been doing good up until a couple weeks ago. It looks sort of limp. I haven't overwater it or underwater it as far as I know...no insects....I was wondering if I could take clippings & put it in water to start roots to get another plant. |
If the mother plant is not doing well then it is unlikely that the cuttings will do well either, although it's always worth a try. Based on your description I am not sure what the problem would be although perhaps it is reacting to drier air in the house now that the heating system is on? These plants do like a humid atmosphere (they'll even grow in a terrarium) and this could account for the limpness. You might try placing it on a bed of pebbles with water just below the bottom of the pot to try to increase humidity around it. Also be sure it is not in any drafts, either warm or cold. |
