| I know that peonies need to be planted with the eyes 2 inches below the surface of the soil, does that mean that the pink/red growth coming from the base I see now need to be covered with soil? |
| The eyes, or buds, emerge from the top of the tuber, not the bottom, so plant with the buds facing upwards, covering with 2" of amended soil. |
