| Is there such a tree or bush called a Chinese Cherry? I once saw a screen of tall bushes or small trees in a closely planted row. The cherries were not sweet, and had a large pit over a small fruit. Birds loved them and the owner made jelly with the fruit. I am not sure if I remember the name correctly, but I think he called them Chinese Cherries. I am interested in planting a line of such fruit trees to screen my yard from the neighbor's yard. |
| The Nanking cherry is native to Asia and can be grown as a hedge, so it might be the plant you're looking for. The fruit is tart, about 1/2 inch in diameter, and can be eaten fresh or used in pies and jellies. You'll need two different cherries for pollination.
