The Q&A Archives: Hibiscus Buds Dropping Off

Question: The buds fall off my hibiscus plants like some one cut the off with a cutter. Can you help?

Answer: Buds are very sensitive and if your plant is under stress from too much or too little water or fertilizer, thrips or other factors, the buds may fall. Also, some varieties (particularly doubles) are more prone to bud drop.

You might try misting the leaves in the morning to increase humidity around the plant.

Hope the above helps you determine the cause of the bud drop.
