I have heard that daylillies are edible, taste similar to lettuce, and can be used to add decoration to salads. Is this ture? Can I use petals from our daylillies in salads?

If you are positive the daylily (Hemerocallis) plants have not been treated with any harmful chemicals, you might give them a try and see how you find the taste. Daylily buds and petals can make an attractive (or at least an unusual) garnish for salads, but in my experience the taste is rather bland.
