The Q&A Archives: Caring For Atrium

Question: I have an atrium with 3 plants in it. I heard you just mist instead of watering is this correct?

Answer: Since an "atrium" can take many forms (anything from a stairwell with large high windows to the equivalent of a terrarium environment), the best way to care for the plants would be to observe them and water based on their performance. Some plants require high humidity and moist soil, others prefer a drier atmosphere and a soil that is allowed to dry out between waterings. If you knew what kind(s) of plants you have and could describe what you are calling an atrium we might be able to be more specific.
