I have a dwarf banana tree. Last summer durning the drought, I put it outside and it grew like a weed. All I did was water it now, and then. Now, that its inside it seems like every other day it starts to wilt. My watering meater reads wet all of the time, but I keep watering it. My question is how much water is too much? The plant is about 5 feet tall and 3 feet wide.

Indoors for the winter the tree will need less water than it did outside. I suspect you are overwatering it. It may also begin to brown a bit due to the reduced light of the season. Basically, they need bright light all winter and very little water--- especially if the temperatures are cool (50F-60F).
