I am using shredded leaves for garden mulch this year. I heard this may make the soil too acidic though. Will I need to add lime to raise the pH come Spring?

The acidity will depend on the type of leaves you are using, and in most cases using them as mulch will not appreciably afffect the soil pH. However in general it is a good idea to have your soil tested occasionally to see if any amendments such as lime would be a good idea, and especially if you are concerned about the pH. This is actually the only way to find out for sure! Your County Extension (690-2655) should be able to help you with the testing and interpreting the results.
