Ficus auriculata (also called Ficus roxburghii) is native to India and grows outdoors in your area in full sun. The plant has unusually large leaves (about 15" across)with a sandpapery feel. This ficus grows to 25' in height and has a bushy, spreading habit. It's a common plant and any well-stocked nursery should have several specimens. Contact Pacific Tree Farms, 4301 Lynwood Dr., Chula Vista, CA 91910, or Digging Dog Nursery, Box 471, Albion, CA 95401 if a local nursery doesn't have the Ficus you're looking for.
