Does Gopher Purge (Euphorbia lathyrus)have any herb like value for uses such as green tea or as an additive in food preparation. Do you know of a website that will give detailed information about this plant.

The majority of euphorbias (also referred to as spurge) are extremely toxic and not commonly used; in fact many people suffer a severe skin reaction from contacting its sap alone. For a historical look at uses for some types of euphorbia you might find the old fashioned herbal by M. Grieves interesting. See the listing for Caper spurge at http://www.botanical.com/botan... for her description of its uses. However, I would strongly advise against eating it in any way, shape or form!
