The Q&A Archives: Growing Ipomopsis in FL

Question: I have just recieved the summer plant catolog. There is not much to tell me what zone the plants will do well in. I live in centeral Florida and am interested in the Hummingbird Mix Ipomopsis Will it do well in my area? I am trying to grow a cutting garden. Thank you. Tracy Hardy Deltona, FL

Answer: Ipomopsis loves heat and dry conditions. It should grow fine in Florida, except for the high humidity. It would probably do best planted in a site that dries out quickly and has well drained, light soils. Other than that it should grow fine in your cutting garden.
