The Q&A Archives: Best Times to Transplant Evergreens

Question: When is a good time to transplant evergreen trees? James Ketcham Wall, NJ

Answer: You can transplant evergreeens in spring or fall. I'd say right now in New Jersey is a good time to move them because the roots are starting to grow and should get established easier in their new site. Prepare a good sized hole for them, try to dig asmush of the root system out as you can with soil attached and keep the evergreens well watered throughout the summer and they should be fine.
