I have been given gladiola bulbs. What are the best conditions for storing them? How and where should I plant them? When do I plant them?

The bulbs should be stored dry and somewhat cool but definitely not freezing. Keep them in a paper bag or mesh bag or cardboard box to allow air to circulate around them. Do not keep them in a plastic bag. Plant them in the spring and early summer in a location with full sun, rich soil, and good drainage meaning not a soggy spot. To extend the blooming period you might want to plant them at one week intervals, otherwise they will all bloom at once. Enjoy your glads!
