We have a fish pond in our backyard. The ph level is too high, so we need something to bring it down that won't hurt the water plants or the fish. What should we do? |
A good range to aim for is somewhere between 6.8 and 7.4 and testing should be done in the morning following the directions on your test kit. Most pond suppliers carry products to lower pH (Alkaminus for example is carried by Lilypons, 800-999-5459). Be very careful to follow the instructions on the label and do not adjust more than about a half a point a day. Take longer between steps if you need to adjust over a very wide range. |
