The Q&A Archives: How Far Apart Should Asiatic Lily Bulbs Be Planted?

Question: How far apart should Asiatic Lily bulbs be planted?

Answer: Spacing is to some extent a matter of preference. A rule of thumb might be a foot to 18 inches apart, especially for the taller types. These plants do best with good air circulation so you don't want to crowd them. In time they will grow and multiply so that you will need to lift and thin them. Planting closer together gives a nice show the first year but requires taking action sooner down the road.
