The Q&A Archives: Evergreens

Question: Please advise the fastest growing evergreen tree and/or hedge and about how high does it grow each year.

Answer: Evergreens grow more slowly than deciduous plants, but Norway Spruce (Picea abies) grows the fastest of the evergreens. Depending upon age, size and health before planting, and care after planting, you can expect your spruces to grow 12"-18" each year, reaching 25' in ten years.
