The Q&A Archives: Plants That Propagate From Leaves

Question: I've found a plant that grows from it's leaves. Heard it was called the 'Love Plant'. Any info would be helpful. Or names of other plants that grow the same.

Answer: If the leaves of the plant develop new little leaves, it's probably Tolmiea menziesii, the 'piggy-back' plant. The leaves are hairy and produce new little plantlets at the junction of the leaf stalk and blade. There may be other plants that grow in this same way, but piggy-back plant is the most widely available.
