| I have an orange tree brought back from Florida two years ago. The leaves have dryed up and are falling off. New sprouts seem to be starting on the trunk, and the branches don't seem to be dieing. This tree has been kept inside. Would appreciate any help. |
| It's normal for citrus to drop some of its leaves. As long as you see new growth and the tree seems otherwise healthy, I wouldn't worry about it. Citrus needs plenty of sunlight, consistent soil moisture and a regular fertilizer program of nitrogen. Try to find a fertilizer formulated for citrus, which will provide info on how much to apply on the package. Water well before and after applying. Citrus are frost tender, but you might want to consider acclimating to the outside during summer months. Put it outside in a protected location for a couple hours per day, gradually increasing the time it's outdoors to prevent it from shock. This process is called "hardening off." When you bring it inside in the fall, repeat the process, in reverse. Good luck with your citrus. |
