I have two trees in my yard that the bark is peeling off. Are these trees sick and what do I need to do for them or to them to get them better? Thanks |
Peeling bark could be a sign of a very sick tree...or it could be a natural characteristic of the tree. Peel bark is a natural, and quite attractive, feature of several common trees including sycamore, river birch, paperbark maple, and shagbark hickory. As you can see, it's important to know what type of tree you have in your yard. If you know, just repost your question with the new information. If not, contact your local cooperative extension agent (ph# 804-427-4769) who may be able to help you identify the tree. |
