| I recently purchases 6 4" select hybrid primrose plants. There were no instructions for the care, feeding and watering included with the plants. Please advise. |
| Primulas, or primrose, make wonderful house plants for the winter when they bloom their hearts out! Plants need to be kept in a cool bright place, and kept moist. Feed every 2 weeks during the blooming season, and keep dead flowers picked. They do not like hot, dry conditions. Though there are many types of primroses, some of which are hardy and can be planted outdoors in the spring, because it is January most likely you have purchased non-hardy "florist's primroses". These primroses are often discarded after flowering, because they can be difficult to maintain and bring into bloom again. Though it's possible to keep them alive by placing them in a cool, shady spot for the summer, and bringing them indoors again in the fall, it's unlikely that you'll be able to coax them into such a spectacular bloom again. Just didn't want you to be disappointed! |
