The Q&A Archives: Crape Myrtle

Question: When is the best time to spray for aphids?

Answer: Crape myrtles often attract aphids and their feeding usually results in a sticky honeydew all over the leaves and branches. As soon as you discover aphids, hose them off with plain water. If the population resists the water treatment, use insecticidal soap, being careful to spray all leaf surfaces, stems and branches.
