The Q&A Archives: Zone Coding

Question: When you indicate a particular plant is hardy for Zones 2-8 (for instance), does that mean it is hardy for Zone #2 AND Zone #8, or does it mean it is hardy for Zones #2 THRU #8?

Answer: When hardiness is indicated its for all the zones between the first number and the second number. So, if you live in zone 6, you could safely plant something that is hardy in zones 2-8.

Hope this clarifys things for you.
