Liquid soluble fertilizers such as MiracleGrow would take the place of other fertilizers containing the same analysis of nitrogen, phosphorus and potash. In some cases plants may need additional nutrients (sometimes referred to as "minors") or may have special needs, but often the liquid soluble form is all you need to use. The best way to tell what to add to your soil is to test it and find out what it already has and what it lacks. You might also need to adjust the pH depending on what you want to grow. Your County Extension (832-0135) should be able to help you with the basic soil tests and interpreting the results. Finally, the best way to help make sure your plants get everything they need is to "feed" the soil and keep it healthy by adding copious amounts of organic matter such as compost on a regular basis.
