The Q&A Archives: Caring for Florist Cineraria

Question: I recently bought a 5" potted Cineraria and I am unsure of how to care for it. Any advise would help; right now it's looking droopy. Patty Watson Blacksburg,VA

Answer: Florists Cinerias like well-drained soil, moist soil and fertilizer every other week. The droopiness may just be the shock of being moved and it should recover. They like cool, humid environments and probably would grow best in a pot getting morning sun in your area. They aren't hardy in Virginia so enjoy them as an annual in the pot or in the garden. They may stop flowering in the heat of summer.
