Last Summer we planted several clusters of Oat Grass. The question now is should it be trimmed back to get rid of the dead parts. It is about have brown and half green as of mid-January.

Ornamental grasses can be trimmed back just as new growth begins. This is usually early spring in most parts of the country, but if your grasses are producing new blades, you can cut them back now to remove old growth and encourage new growth.
