The Q&A Archives: Tips on Scaevola Care

Question: My sister-in-law gave me a Scaevola ("Blue Wonder"). It has somewhat succulent leaves and light purple flowers. I live in Southern California and would like to know more about this plant. Thank you! Julie Harris Simi Valley, CA

Answer: Scaevola is a relatively new introduction and a nice container plant, especially for hanging baskets. It likes at least 1/2 day of sun, well drained soil and it is a vigorous, trailing plant that prduces blue flowers until fall. It's hardy to zones 9 so will probably overwinter well in your area. It only gets about 12 inches tall. Enjoy this great flower.
