A previous owner planted a few lilies in a shady embankment (1-3 hours/day during the summer) and I would like to plant more. Is this enough sun or Asian and/or Oriental lilies?

In general lilies are considered plants for sun to part shade, but it is possible there is enough dappled light to keep them happy there. If not, it is possible that many were planted but only a few have survived. You might try planting a few to see how they do before you commit to planting a large number there.
