Unfortunately, based on the information in your description, I am unable to identify the pest with certainty, although it might be the strawberry sap beetle if it feeds on ripe fruit. The best control for this pest is to promptly pick the plants clean of ripe fruit every year and do not allow overripe fruit to accumulate. You might want to consult with your county extension for a more precise identification and suggested controls also.
