I just looked at our peach tree today and discovered that the ends are looking stripped and are oozing sap. A couple weeks ago it looked perfectly healthy. What could be causing this and how can I deal with it? We planted it almost a year ago.

It's possible that peach twig borers have made your new tree their home. Check the following website to see if the description matches what you've found on your tree. Probably the easiest control is to prune off the affected branch tips and destroy them. Since peaches bear on new wood, you'll be doing your tree two favors. Ridding it of the insects and encouraging the production of new fruiting wood.
