Can I add coffee and tea grinds to my compost pile?

You can add almost anything to your compost pile, including garden debris, raw vegetable and fruit trimmings, used coffee ground, tea leaves, stale bread, etc. The important things to keep out of the compost pile are bones, meat and fish scraps, cheese, oil, and fat. These things will break down in a compost pile, but you might be inviting rodents and insect pests, which can be difficult to eradicate.
