Is there anything special I need to do to plant Lotus seeds? Could you name some bunching bamboo plants for zone 6? |
Seeds of Nelumbo, American Lotus, need a special warm water treatment in order to sprout. Chip the seedcoat and submerge in tepid water (75F-85F); change water twice a day until seeds sprout (usually 14-30 days). Then plant in individual pots, or roll each seed in a ball of clay and drop onto the bottom of your pond. Some clumping bamboos include Bamboo multiplex 'Alphonse Karr', 'Golden Goddess', 'oldhamii', and Bamboo textilis. |
