Satsuma Orange Tree Filled With Thorny Branches - Knowledgebase Question

I planted a Satsuma orange tree 5 years ago in my yard. It only bears a handful of fruit and only on the low branches. It only bears fruit on branches that do not have thorns (only 3 branches) and the rest of the tree (basically the entire tree) is covered with thorns.

Uploaded by robertduval14 It sounds like the rootstock sprouted to form the majority of the tree. You need to cut this all back to the base, leaving only the non-thorny portion. Then regrow the tree from that portion. Watch for sprouts from the rootstock and cut them off as they appear. This will force lots of growth and vigor into the grafted desirable portion.
