The Q&A Archives: Carefree and Hardy Roses

Question: I live in central Minnesota where it can reach tempatures of -40 F. I'm new to gardening and am interested in easy roses for beginners.

Answer: The hardiest and most carefree roses include: Harrison's Yellow (hybrid Foetida), Persian Yellow (Hybrid Foetida), Rosa hugonis (Father Hugo's Rose), Rosa rugosa hybrids (plenty), and Hybrid Spinossissimas (plenty). They're not exactly Hybrid Teas but they will do the job for you.
