Hollyhock seeds can been sown indoors 6-8 weeks before planting outdoors. They don't like their roots disturbed, so for best results plant in individual peat pots filled with moistened seed starting mix. When they're ready for transplant, you can dig a hole and pop the peat pot right into the ground.

Sow seeds on the surface of moistened seed starting mix and barely press into the soil. Seeds will sprout in 10-14 days when kept at 60F - 70F.
