The Q&A Archives: Niger Magnolia

Question: Can a Niger Magnolia be planted in full sun on the south side of a house facing north south?

Answer: 'Niger' is a hybrid between Magnolia liliiflora and Magnolia sargentiena robusta. Expect your tree to reach 40' in height, with a spread of 30', with 8" wide rose-pink outside and white-pink inside flowers. All magnolias benefit from full sunshine and lots of space in which to spread out.
