The Q&A Archives: Neurological Effects of Using Bone Meal

Question: I've been using bone meal for many years as an organic phosphorus fertilizer, but I just heard there must've been some news program that claimed bone meal has been linked to brain cancer. Do you know anything about that or any other problems with using bone meal? George Weigel Mechanicsburg, PA

Answer: That's a new one on me. I haven't heard any news about bone meal causing cancer. If you're worried about using it, it's simple to substitute rock phosphate and have a similar benefit. If you hear more information about this, I'd love to see it. Thanks.
