In my experience hoyas are very tolerant of dry air and don't require misting. If your house is extremely dry, an easier way to humidify the air immediately around the plant is to set it on a tray filled with pebbles and water. (Set the pot on the pebbles, fill with water to just below the bottom of the pot so it doesn't sit in the water. Add a bit of household bleach to the water to inhibit algae and refill as needed.) You can also use a humidifier.
